Our Yolt Platform
YOLT Group BV is the leading open banking provider in Europe, building, managing, and maintaining AIS and PIS connections for top financial institutions and ambitious tech businesses. In January 2018, we became the first-ever Third-Party Provider to successfully make an open banking API call. Just over two years later, we have now made more than 1 billion API calls, accounting for 50% of all traffic.

Our Yolt Engineering team
The Yolt team consists of backend, frontend, and application support engineers. The team sits spread across our Amsterdam, and Katowice (Poland) offices, and is committed to driving awareness and engagement with Yolt.PSD2 is a young and very fast developing field in IT and Yolt is on the forefront of this ground-breaking territory. We disclose account and transaction data of consumers via an OAuth interaction with any of the European banks whilst also being able to initiate payments.

What you’ll be doing
In your role as Backend Engineer you will be part of our journey to maintain and expand the Yolt platform. You’ll work on a cluster of microservices (Spring Boot) that are hosted in AWS, communicates through Kafka and that uses Cassandra and PostgreSQL as primary data store. You’ll work on prepared tickets and actively contribute to design.You will be responsible for implementing new features that enable our client to build even better use cases and you make sure the systems are stable and performant. Therefore you’re able to form an image of the overall workings of our system. You need to understand how data is being processed throughout the system and which events pass through the cluster(s).

• You’ll work on continued development of API’s
• Analysing and designing new features together with the team
• Build new use-cases on top of our API’s
• Supporting Yolt clients
• Contribute on refinements

 
Performance, security, and resilience are of utmost importance, as we will be handling high load, customer data and want to deliver a service with maximum availability. The backend has to be quality controlled by fully automated tests and have to be performance tested for which you will also be responsible. We work according to a SCRUM Agile development process and release working software all the time to production.

What you’ll need

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or relevant field
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in creating highly scalable mission-critical applications.
• Good knowledge and experience with the latest Java including the Spring framework.
• Experience with the architecture of distributed systems
• Experience with working with queues (preferably Kafka)
• Fluent in English (written and verbal) and capable of performing 2nd line support for clients
• Base knowledge of AWS, K8S, Cassandra
• Base knowledge of Security (Public Key Cryptography (PKI), Tokens, TLS)
• Experience with working in an agile environment
• Strong communication skills
